The pandemic lockdown is not only an issue of physical health, but it also has repercussions for mental health and well-being. Julian Harrison is an author and mental health campaigner who devotes a lot of his time to encouraging a greater awareness and understanding of mental ill health. Julian offers advice and guidance to those directly affected in the Mind Apples project, and in his work he addresses the stigma and discrimination that still seems to accompany mental illness. John Coster has worked with Julian for many years, promoting mental health awareness through community media. We discussed how the Covid-19 lockdown will affect mental health in our communities, what we should look out for as signs of mental illness, and what we can do to help others and ourselves.
