Do you want to meet and share good practice with similar minded people who are passionate about using media for positive social change?
The Leicester Stories Community Reporters Club is an informal drop-in for people who support and help community, charity, mutual aid or civic society groups to be more creative and inclusive when using media to share stories about our communities and our neighbourhoods.
Community reporters are people who are passionate about telling these stories in ways that are relevant and accountable.
Are you interested in supporting community reporting in Leicester, so our media can we be more inclusive, creative and a space for positive dialogue? Are you interested in making and sharing DIY media in order to tell stories about our sense of belonging, identity and the issues that shape our lives in our communities and our neighbourhoods?
Do you want to take your DIY media skills to the next level and help your community group or people in your neighbourhood improve how they tell stories about our lives, where we belong, and what will help us to build back better from the pandemic?
The club is a chance to meet like-minded people who have an interest in community-focussed communications, and who are active in supporting our communities by improving how we share information, news and foster discussion.
We'll consider the following topics and how to get the most from them:
The club is free, but we have a limit of twelve places each week, so it's welcome if you can register in advance.
It's over eighteen years old only, and we will be applying social distancing measures as required.
