The Documentary Media Centre operates using the ‘community of practice’ model. The centre identifies and connects with active documentarians via the Parallel Lives project – practitioners located across Latin America, West & East Africa, South Asia, and South-East Asia. The centre provides researchers, educators and students, access to this documentary media content through its museum exhibits, archive and library of documentary films, photography, audio, and new media. The centre also organizes ‘Doc Media for Learning’ events throughout the year. The Documentary Media Centre is an independent museum, archive & library – registered with AiM, the Association of Independent Museums.
